SEND & Pupil Support Through Sport
More Than Sport.
At Be You Active, we use sport and physical activity to create positive, engaging experiences for children who may benefit from additional support.
Working alongside school staff, our 1:1 and small-group sessions can be tailored around individual pupils and designed to support areas such as confidence, engagement, communication, teamwork and social development.
Flexible support built around your pupils and your school.

Who Can We Support?
Every child is different. Our sessions can be adapted to support pupils who may:
-
Have SEND or additional needs
-
Find traditional PE or larger group activities challenging
-
Struggle with confidence or self-esteem
-
Benefit from support with communication and social interaction
-
Find it difficult to engage or remain focused
-
Benefit from developing teamwork and turn-taking
-
Need positive opportunities to experience success
-
Respond particularly well to movement and physical activity
We work with the school to understand the individual child or group's needs and create sessions that are appropriate, achievable and engaging.
Support Designed Around the Child
There is no one-size-fits-all Be You Active session.
Before beginning a programme, we speak with the school's SENCO, teacher or relevant member of staff to understand the pupil's needs, interests and the areas the school would like us to support.
Sessions may include:
-
1:1 Support
-
Individual sessions providing a calm, supportive environment where activities can be adapted entirely around one pupil.
-
Small-Group Intervention
-
Structured physical activity for small groups, creating opportunities to develop confidence, communication, teamwork, turn-taking and positive interaction.
-
Targeted Physical Activity
-
Engaging sport and movement for pupils who may find traditional PE, classroom-based interventions or larger groups more challenging.
-
Bespoke Programmes
-
Short or longer-term programmes designed around priorities identified by the school.
-
Activities can include football, multi-sports, team challenges, fundamental movement skills, games and other physical activities depending on the needs and interests of the pupils.

Experience That Goes Beyond Sport
At Be You Active, we believe the most important part of working with any child is understanding the individual behind the behaviour, ability or additional need.
Our experience goes beyond simply delivering sports sessions. We have worked with children across mainstream primary schools, specialist educational settings, targeted pupil support and SEND-inclusive holiday provision.
This experience has helped us understand the importance of building positive relationships, creating clear and consistent routines, adapting activities to individual needs and providing an environment where every child has the opportunity to experience success.
We work alongside SENCOs, teachers and school staff to understand each pupil and ensure our sessions complement the support already in place.
Schools can have confidence that our provision is:
✓ Enhanced DBS checked
✓ Safeguarding trained
✓ First Aid qualified
✓ Fully insured
✓ Experienced within mainstream and specialist educational settings
✓ Experienced in supporting children with a range of additional needs
✓ Flexible and adapted around the individual child
For us, success isn't simply about sporting ability. It can be a child joining in when they normally wouldn't, communicating with another pupil, completing an activity, building trust with a coach or simply leaving a session feeling proud of what they have achieved.
That's what we mean by More Than Sport.
REAL IMPACT
Supporting engagement through sport
During one of our holiday programmes, we supported a child who had found sustained engagement within school extremely difficult.
By creating a consistent routine, building a positive relationship with coaches and adapting activities around the child's needs and interests, they were able to engage throughout the programme and participate alongside other children.
There were still challenging moments, but seeing their confidence and participation develop across the programme demonstrated exactly why we believe physical activity can offer children another environment in which to succeed.
Could one of your pupils benefit from a different approach?
Let's have a conversation.
Tell us a little about the pupil or group you'd like to support and we'll discuss how physical activity could form part of your school's existing provision.
